A delicious and unique twist on traditional pork with apple cider and turkey bacon.

  • 2 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 4 strips turkey bacon
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large oven-safe pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add turkey bacon and cook until crispy.
  3. Remove turkey bacon and set aside, then add pork shoulder to the pot and brown on all sides.
  4. Add minced garlic, apple cider, salt, pepper, and thyme around the pork.
  5. Cover the pot and transfer to the oven. Cook for 2 hours or until tender.
  6. Remove from the oven and let rest before slicing.
  7. Serve with crispy turkey bacon on top.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the pork overnight.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or a green salad.
