- 4 large russet potatoes
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup cooked turkey bacon, crumbled
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the potatoes for about 1 hour until soft.
- Let the potatoes cool, then peel and chop them.
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually add chicken broth and milk, whisking until smooth.
- Add the chopped potatoes, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
