- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons flour (for filling)
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted (for filling)
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
- Add the softened butter, egg, and spices to the yeast mixture, then gradually mix in the flour and salt until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, then place it in a greased bowl and cover with a towel; let rise for 1 hour.
- Once risen, roll out the dough into a rectangle and brush with melted butter.
- Mix brown sugar and flour for the filling and sprinkle it over the buttered dough.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
