  • 1 large egg
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons flour (for filling)
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted (for filling)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Add the softened butter, egg, and spices to the yeast mixture, then gradually mix in the flour and salt until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, then place it in a greased bowl and cover with a towel; let rise for 1 hour.
  4. Once risen, roll out the dough into a rectangle and brush with melted butter.
  5. Mix brown sugar and flour for the filling and sprinkle it over the buttered dough.
  6. Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add more spices to the filling as desired.
  • Experiment with icing on top for more sweetness.
