Classic Butter Herb Stuffing

A rich and flavorful stuffing made with butter, herbs, and bread.

  • 1 loaf day-old bread, cubed
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and celery, sauté until soft.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, chicken broth, herbs, salt, and pepper. Stir in the beaten eggs.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes until the top is golden brown.

Notes

  • Feel free to add cooked sausage for extra flavor.
  • Make it vegetarian by using vegetable broth instead of chicken broth.
