  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet yeast
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let the dough rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
  5. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  6. Roll out the dough and cut into circles.
  7. Spread ricotta cheese and mozzarella on one half, then add marinara sauce and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  8. Fold the dough over and seal the edges.
  9. Place calzones on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
