Gordon Ramsay’s Tiramisu

A delicious take on the classic tiramisu dessert by Gordon Ramsay.

Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup brewed espresso, cooled
  • 1/2 cup coffee liqueur
  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the milk until just boiling and then pour it into the egg mixture, stirring constantly.
  3. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat until it thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool. Once cooled, fold in the whipped cream, mascarpone cheese, and vanilla extract.
  5. In a shallow dish, combine the espresso and coffee liqueur.
  6. Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture for a few seconds, then layer them in a serving dish.
  7. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  8. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
  10. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, add chocolate shavings on top.
  • Make sure to use fresh espresso for the best flavor.
