Pretzel Bites

These Pretzel Bites are a delicious snack that combines the savory flavors of turkey bacon and cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup turkey bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  3. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture, then mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls, then flatten them and place turkey bacon and cheese inside. Seal the edges.
  6. Boil water in a pot, and add baking soda. Drop the pretzel bites in for about 30 seconds, then remove and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • For a cheesy inside, use extra cheese.
  • Serve with mustard or cheese dip for extra flavor.
