Quebec-Style Beef Tourtière

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 ounces turkey bacon
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon sage
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 2 pie crusts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then remove and chop.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add in the ground beef, turkey bacon, thyme, sage, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned.
  5. Stir in the beef broth and cook for a few minutes.
  6. Place one pie crust in a pie dish and fill with the meat mixture.
  7. Cover with the second pie crust, seal the edges, and cut slits on top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
